I have been working and training in the field of mental health since the late 1990's. I decided to become a counselor because I wanted to better understand mental illness and how to help people with mental illness thrive.
I earned my masters degree in Counselor Education from the University of South Florida in 2000. Before that I studied philosophy and cognitive science, earning my bachelors degree from Rollins college. As a counselor I have worked in outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization settings. I have also worked on an Assertive Community Treatment team, often called "a hospital without walls" for individuals with chronic and persistent mental illnesses. Before opening my private practice in Lexington, SC the winter of 2019, I had a practice for six years in Bradenton, FL. While my favorite things are being a mom and a counselor, I also love to read, travel, eat out, look at nature, and correspond with old friends.

Directions -- From the corner of HWY 378 and Main St, go SE on Main St. Go through downtown Lexington, past the county courthouse, and past the Methodist and Baptist churches. Directly after the churches, on the Right-hand side, is a small shopping center called The Shops at 403 E Main. From the road you can see a paint store called ED's Designs (orange building). Turn in here and park. My office is on the second story behind the paint store. There is a hair salon on the first floor and my office is at the top of the stairs.
Accessibility -- Unfortunately, my office is not accessible by an elevator. If you are not able to use stairs we can discuss alternate locations
